Photography: Little Black Dress

My Hair and makeup ideas for the Photo Shoot.

Photography: Little Black Dress

I have a general idea of how I want my photo shoot to go, this is a collection of images that show the direction I would like the shoot to take.

Photography

The next project we have been asked to complete is a styling brief, we are teamed up with a photographer from Newcastle College and must produce photographic evidence of are Little Black Dress. In order to gain ideas and inspiration for this shoot I have started my research and have come across this website with a wide selection of photographers work.

Savile Row

About Us
The Savile Row Company is based in the heart of Savile Row and has been making finely tailored shirts since 1938. A family company of medium size, Savile Row now designs and produces an extensive range of clothing and accessories for Men and Women - all crafted to the highest standard of quality and workmanship. The Savile Row Company brand is sold in over 30 countries worldwide.
The company initially manufactured and provided quality clothes to many famous London department stores. Sadly, the factory was completely destroyed during the Blitz. Yet, only a year after the War ended, the business was re-started with a new focus on men’s wear. We moved our manufacturing over to Northern Ireland and enjoyed even greater success, continuing to supply large, countrywide chain stores, independent retailers as well as individual firms established and operating on Savile Row.
When we opened our own flagship store at 40 Savile Row, we decided to shift the emphasis of the business to selling directly to the public. Since then we’re proud to say we have built up an incredibly successful ‘direct’ business. Our mail order and e-commerce operations go from strength to strength and the ‘Made to Measure’ service offered at 40 Savile Row has never been more popular.
During the most recent 5 years we have invested in excess of £1m in state of the art manufacturing and information systems in order to bring a world class quality product.
This Autumn also sees the launch of our new Women’s Wear range - an exquisite range of versatile, femininely tailored garments with a contemporary twist.
By supplying direct from our own Warehouse, we are able to minimise costs and pass these savings onto our Customers. The result is that we sell at prices much lower than one would associate with such superb tailoring.
The Savile Row Company is linked through product licensing arrangements to some of the finest textile producers in the World and together with our technical expertise and design skills we're honoured to bring you luxury clothes and affordable prices.

Inspiration

Idea for catwalk project.

I love this image, from it I have had the idea of setting my final catwalk show around the theme of tailoring I think it would be really interesting to see how I can manipulate fabrics and structured tailoring to come up with a original designs.

My Little Black Dress.

The Little Black Dress Claire Fortune AD 208 Skills Development 2 : Diary

One the embroidery was complete I was finally able to put my dress together and see just how it would look completed this part of the process was fairly easy I was just repeating the techniques and processes that I had already done to my toile. I was surprised at just how fast my garment came together. Once I had put my entire garment together I was able to press it and then add the lining
.
I stick by my decision that the most tricky sections of work was my lining and also the waist band I believe that these are the arrears of work that I found the most complicated or technically challenging. Throughout this project I have gained new skills and developed ones I already have and I aim to carry on learning in this subject as I really enjoy the pattern cutting and sewing stages of creating a garment.
The next stage in the process is the final touches.
