The Little Black Dress Claire Fortune AD 208 Skills Development 2 : Diary

Pattern cutting with final fabrics: for this project I had bought in my own fabric and as always had a limited supply so pattern cutting was a very important step to producing my final garment complete.  On each of my pattern pieces there was a grain line that I was to stick to in order to create a working dress at the end of the project.  I laid out all me skirt pieces first in order to create a cost effective lay plan each piece was measured from the grain line of the fabric to the pattern to make sure they corresponded. Pattern cutting is one of the things I enjoy doing along with being in the sewing rooms and I would defiantly consider doing it as a career in the future as I particularly like taking a 2D image and transforming it in to a 3D garment.
