Alterations on the Bodice:
When it came to altering the bodice it was simply moving the seam lines in to make the dress more fitted. I took it in at the front about an inch on each side making the garment just that little bit more fitted and there for showing off the figure of the model, I also took a small amount off section two on the front of the bodice to once again enhance the fit of the dress (see page 13). The back of the bodice was also brought in slightly just to get rid of some of the extra fabric at the back; this helped the dress to take a better shape.
One of the things I did find hard was moving the waist band of the dress higher up this made the back more concealed and also changed the look of the dress as the waist line was now clearly highlighted as I wanted it to be.
Alterations on the Skirt:
The only alterations to the skirt was adding the waistband back on and also adding the volume to the front of the skirt this was all very straight forward. I will say that the pattern piece for the centre front was a very odd shape after altering it, I did worry weather on not it would work. Thankfully it did fit and gave me that necessary volume to the front of the dress.
Alterations of the sleeves:
Once again the only alteration needed to the sleeves was the fit, bringing in the sleeve in the centre so not to affect the fit in to the arm hole or the cuff.
